hey everybody finally got my engine torn down and the worst case scenario has happened. Theres a giant hole in the piston wall and the piston is shattered.
So now i'm in the market for a new motor, i wanna get a H.O. V6 from a Grand am, but how much do i need, like do i need the computer wiring harness, and do all the connectors from the 3100 fit directly onto the new motor? I really wanna get a new motor in my car before the summer time so i can take it to the drag strip.
Thanx for all your help!
Mr. Jeff

I hate to do this to you.... but there is alot of good info in my topic "3100 camshaft?". I asked about a 3100 build and after all the great help and info I gave up on the 3100 and am now going to build a 3400(there is info on that in there) . I know there are alot of posts there, but there is too much info to pass by. Also 6r8ph1X just did the swap, you could ask him.
keep'em flying!

Look at www.3400swap.com for a guide about putting one in a Grand Am... BUT they apply to us for the most part... I think with that guide and some common sense you should be able to figure everything out and swap it in...
These are weekend swaps they are so easy. I've done so many of them its like putting a factory engine in.
