Jet Chips

Post by 96Z26 »

Hey guys

Looking to add a little more HP out of my Z26 and was wondering if the "Jet " mass air flow sensor is worth the money.

Thanks for any info or feed back

Unfortunately, they've been dyno proven to have NO effect on horsepower.

The best bang for the buck ideas are intake and exhaust, just to help it breathe a little better.  2.5" mandrel bent piping with a high-flow cat and a straight-through muffler is the least restrictive.  There's a few warm air intakes on ebay, but there's a guy on here that sells true cold air intakes for our cars, and I believe he has one for a 96 Z.  PM Styluss Customs, I think they're around $150 and work great.

I've heard the same on the bigger MAF. I have read that you have to do a tune to get anything out of that. You would have to reflash and let the computer know of the new air flow so it could see it. It's better just to use the stock one as you are going to do.
