plastic intake manifold off 2.4Quad

Post by Guest »

For all you 2.3 Quad owners (you know who u r), if you take the plastic intake manifold from a newer 2.4 Quad, it'll give you about 15-20 extra horses if combined with a CAI.  The bolt patterns match perfectly, and there won't be any clearence problems. And 1 more plus, you can even eliminate the oil seperator.  I've done the conversion with no problems with condensation in the engine.  Even the electrical components hooked right up, no mods.PEACE!

I've heard of the 2.4 owners swapping to our 2.3 log manifold for power?I also heard they don't line up perfect without mod? Not dogging your post, I'm just curious...I really can't see that much of a gain either...2-3hp maybe..

You got it backwards.  2.4 guys want the 2.3 components.  They will do the secret cam swap supposedly good for 15 to 20 hp???. I dont follow 2.4's because they are "tamed" quads... basically lost the testicles and some overies grew on them... haha

also they want to do the intake manifold swap from a 2.3 onto their 2.4s as 93Gt--Z stated.

only thing worth swapping from a 2.4 onto a 2.3 is the 99 to 2002 starter which is almost half the weight and more torquey. ( I am getting mine from Schram in a few days since mine is dying)

Yeah, way backwards post.  You actually get more umph down low, but you're gonna be choking a true quad come high rpms.  Not to mention that the bolt holes are slightly different.  I've got an Ho mani, and a 2.4 mani in my garage if you want some comparison pictures if you don't believe me.
