Center Brake Light Mount

Post by Lockerz »

Last November I took my Beretta for a safety and emissions check so I could get my car registered. Everything on the car was fine except that my rear center brake light was out, I got those replaced and they worked but I almost didn't pass because the light has no mount in the spoiler and is held on by tape. The guy let me off but this year if I don't get a mount for the light my car won't pass. My only thought right now is to make a jerry rig out of nuts, bolts, and screws.

So any other ideas? That's the only one i've got right now.

That's odd. There should be two tabs in there behind where the "ears" of the light go (should be screw holes) that would have screw clips mounted on, and there would be two torx screws to fasten it via the ends of the light.. What is missing? If you need screw clips and screws, you can get them at Napa or similar. Unless this is someone's hacked attempt at fixing it from before or something. Or are the ends of the light broken where the screws go through? I know the screws can also rust out and be useless too, so more info, we might have a solution for you.

@DTMAce There is nowhere to screw the screws in. I think the previous owner did something because it was always taped on the back.

if you really want to keep it simple, and dont have the screws or there are not any screw holes back there... get some clear silicone... when you need to replace the bulbs, exacto knife will carefully get it back out.

sounds like the previous owner broke the tabs inside the spoiler where its all secured to.

Unfortunately the best fix is to find another spoiler.

@3X00-Modified I'm definitely going to be looking for a new spoiler one of these days but it's not my top priority at the moment. I think berettaboi's suggestion is the best for my wallet right now but thank you for the feedback. :)
