I was looking for a specific hood scoop when I came across this

GTZ Complete Body Package. Price=$4350.00 Total Weight=115lbs

Loks like a Load of work but to shave a GTZ to just over 1100lbs! Awesome.

BTW
The hood scoop I am looking for I seen on a red Beretta years ago. This is similar to what it looks like.

If you know where to find this scoop Please let me know.

I looked on the web(bet you found the samething) and found a cowl and a ram air hood.
That's an older Vette hood. I know that hood, it was stock on a very powerful Vette and the cars were made in very small numbers in the 80's(could have been the late 70's). The car had a racing fuel cap and a 454 with something like 500hp(also it was black). If you could find out what it was called, you might be able to get someone to make one for your car. That car is a factory freak and I'm not sure if it made it outside of GM. There was a photo of it on a calendar I had years ago.
Looks like it's too hard to find, just send that pic to a builder.

I just thought it was neat. Yes I seen it was 6 inches longer. Not something I would do but its cool.

I was more interested in the Hood.
MPB hit it on the nose, I think Ill drop my hood and the picture off to the local fab shop. Finding it online again is near impossible.

Those NACA ducts are cool looking, but just add drag. They could be cut open to help cool the engine compartment. That would let rain and snow in though. If they are left closed the drag may help keep the front end down some on the highway. Are you going to have the cowl area open?

I would like to have them opened. The cowl side not the top vents. Just the back and the 2 snorkels.
I dont drive the car in the winter. We get alot of snow here in NY (I'm close to Lake Ontario).

I would want the front 2 snorkles hoked to some sort of Ram Air set-up. I called my local Fiberglass shop and the ball park figure was around $650.00. Not bad for what it is.

Yea, that's not to bad of a price. One snorkel would be more easy to do, but still it would be hard. I thought you were just going for looks. It's going to be tough to set it up and open the hood. Now, is the hood going to be able to use the stock set up, or will you need to pin it on?

I insisted on stock mounting. The guy I spoke to said that they would only open them. I would have to figure a way to connect them to the engine. I was thinking something like the old Z28 cowl hoods with the rubber gasket between the two when the hood shuts to finish the seal. Next time I'm @ my buddies house with the Z I will get photos of it.
The car I seen the hood on originally was on bstuff

Thought there was one with the top look too but i guess not.
I dont want mine so tall tho.

I had a 67 that I was going to get the 69 cowl hood for and a 83 Z28 with CFI, so I know how they work and how they are set up. If you need parts, Classic Industries sells them for the Camaro and Chevelle. I'm not sure how you are going to set this up. Are you going to use the stock air box? What are you going to use to get the air to it?

With any luck I should be able to use either fiberglass or plexiglass I hope. Both are very easy to work with.
Plexi would be neat in the fact LED lights could accent the motor.
BTW, I am doing the 3400 5 speed swap in my 90 GTZ.
Today my mission is to finish the tear down of the interior. Hopefully find the "Firewall leak" that is so popular.

Sounds good man, please post some pics when you start working on the ram air set up. My leak was at the harness and so far it looks like I got it pluged.

As soon as I get the project rollin I'll start posting pics.
Should be some time this weekend or next with the Interior and Motor swap.
The hood is gonna be another month.
Hopefully I can bribe the fab guy to help me out with the rest of the Parts I need for the hood.

How is your cars paint? Just thinking about the new paint on the hood and the old paint on the body.
