Ya it's got a sensor on the oil pan well its hacked cause I had to completely replace the harness cause they cut every single connector off the old harness and spliced the new connectors from the new motor to the old harness.... I've fixed that problem that was the first thing, still needs a new water pump steel pipe since they crushed mine, all sensors need replaced to my year car since all of my plugs are different on my harness, I need a bunch mor stuff but they forced a bolt in one of the tranny bolt holes into the block and broke an ear off the block, I need a bunch more but my car is out at my garage it's just I can't remember everything but all of the stuff I just told you is what sticks out in my head right now at least the idiots used my HO exhaust mani not sure about intake though, cause the throttle body that was on it would not work with my throttle cable the throttle body stuck half way open hooked up and closed not hooked up

After going through a similar ordeal with my Quad (bought car with engine out of car, had blown head gasket), I can say unequivocally that I WOULD NOT EVER take a junkyard Quad4 out and slap it in my car. Yes, this has been very expensive ($400 for block work, $100 for gasket set, $30 water pump, $150 for oil pump, $150 timing set) and a bunch of other misc parts - I had a reman head already so figure $250-$300 for a reman head if you need one.

Yes, it is more expensive, but given the fact that we KNOW Quads had problems and as the mileage racks up, it would serve you much better to rebuild a Quad4.

Just my $0.02.
Where the blue moon did you find an oil pump for $150? Rockauto doesn't sell at that price...

It's a Quad! A very impressive for its time engine.
And you want to go cheap on the oil pump?
This is one part you DON'T go cheap on folks!

Actually, $129 for the Melling pump at Oreilly Auto Parts:

I know there has been discussion between the metal and the composite gears, and I can't remember right now which this new pump has, but it looks identical in every way to the one that came out of my engine.

Who said anything about going cheap? I just found the deal, but NOTHING cheap/sub-par is going in this engine.

If anyone has a core that's blown up ill buy it for $100 also wondering if the third option under 90 beretta on rockauto for pistons are w-41 pistons cause if the 4 valve reliefs someone told me w-41s came with this, I wanted to up my compression ratio to 11:1 or 11:5 might mix cam 2 half and half with 93 octane this will be my summer fun car along side of my chevelle, no winter running cause if I'm gonna spend a shitload I'm not gonna ruin it in the salt
