Well perhaps there is a dyno facility we can set something up with in Chicago.

Although as I said, I really don't care about that number as it pertains to my car nearly as much as some others seem to.

Oh Jon, this is funny, look what I found hahah :D   :burn:
I love it!

I also should mention that Jon asked me about my spare 5spd parts at one point. :Yahoo!:

Isaac, your work here is great. Is the 3.4TDC code set up for MPFI or SFI? I would assume MPFI, correct?

Yes, MPFI. No need for 24x sensor or cam sensor. There is 94-95 DOHC computers that are mapped, but not as much as the older. The 94-95 uses a MAF, and I'm not sure if those are SFI or not. I know the OBDII DOHC ones were of course.

I blame Eric beating me at NE on the hose clamp in my intake causing restriction to one cylinder! (just because I need a excuse)

However, I ran a best of 14.20 at 97 at NE on street tires. With just tuning and cooler temp I ran a 14.10 at 98 with a crappy 60' on street tires.

Too bad me and Eric will probably not race again with the form that our cars are currently in to see what happens...

Barry your car and mine are, or were, so close it's silly for either of us to claim anything.

Next summer should be a fun time and I can see more than a couple N/A Berettas well into the 13's.

And ya know what? That is a pretty quick car considering most 60's and 70's "Muscle Cars" ran high 14's and low 15's at best!

My Dad's '68 396/325hp Chevelle ran 15.20 or something back in the day!

Gonna be interesting to say the least.

If my trans was fresh I bet I could pull at least a 15.5 with my current 3100. The thing feels crappy WOT now. Only if I roll into it with L held down does it move decently fast. 2-1 downshift does not yank you back hard anymore at all.

I hope/plan to be in the 13's by end of summer. Just a matter of putting all the stuff into a car and it not breaking... LOL

Barry, under the hood. Just do it right. What was the issue with the 3500 front manifold? AC? but what part? Rodney's 3500 manifolds going to a turbo are a great setup.

Rodney's set up is incredibly well thought out and did I mention his car will be sleeping beside mine all winter?

(INSERT: Devious smile from an old man!!)

It is a great time for Beretta folks, or at least a few of us stupid enough to blow disposable income on silly little cars!

I really still am considering the rear mount....

If I had a scavenge pump, All I would need is a trip to home depot to finish the projet off. :burn:

Still looking into it... No idea what I'm going to do yet. 89Jyturbo is running 12.59 at 10psi IIRC on a rear mount 3400...

I thought long and hard about rear mount last year and was talked out of it by several guys.

It does eliminate the need for an intercooler in most cases, but it is succeptable(sp) to a whole whack of other issues.

I'm still maybe on the turbo and may just cam the hell out of this one and see what happens. It's not like I drive it alot.

I would still intercool it, but yes, the charge is MUCH cooler.

I think RMT has alot of potential and it needs to be more widespread to help with developing it further.

The only disadvantages I see is some lag, and possibly reliability issues regarding oil pumps and exposed air filters and such.

Either way, its not hard to go back to stock, or put it in the engine bay if it really sucks.

I met a guy with a RMT gto that i need to talk to some more about some details.

Asylum. GO BOOST. Just a cam is not going to get you to the low 13's that you want. And it wont get you the other thing I told you about!

We'll see. It's 5 months before i have to debut this thing at the track, and it IS GOING TO BE a very different combination.

And Rodney just loves telling me how to spend money. LOL!

But I disagree. I CAN cam this thing to 13.20. It's just do I want to live with it?

IsaacHayes wrote:Eric, chasis dyno would show exactly what gets to the ground. Unfortunately not everyone has the same motor and tune with different transmissions to compare.
Jon, what about AlexMT ? He has a 3400/3500 headers and cam. He ran in the 13's. Sure seems like the L bodies takes a lot more to get into the 13's. The J bodies got into the 13's with a gen2 with a gen3 top end and cam and headers... It's not fair I tell you!

EDIT: Jon what are the upshift points @ WOT in OBDII for RPM & MPH? I can't quite figure out the stuff here... It's showing 1-2 at 40mph, 5952 RPM where it would actually be like 47mph at that RPM... 2-3 is 74 which should be like 86ish.. etc... Then 3-4 is 104mph at 2000 RPM.... ??? I'm confused on the 1-2 and 2-3 stuff, thats like a whole 900 RPM early on the MPH value. The 3-4 RPM is at 2000, not quite sure on that one either????
As I have told you many times before, its a double meet shift point, it has to meet both conditions before it will shift... So in that case yes its set for 40mph but 5952, which comes last? the RPM so there your shift point is determided by the RPM. All of my mph points are set lower than they could ever be at high RPM, so all my MPH conditions are met and then it shifts at the RPM trigger... note its about 400-500 RPM lag on the 1-2 shift, so if you want a 6500 shift set it for 6000 or 6050, IIRC mine is set at 6k and it reaches about 6475 or so after 1-2 is commanded... The 2-3 is almost instant. 3-4 being at 2k means it never shifts from 3-4 at WOT unless your hitting 104mph, which is right before the cutoff.

Also those J-body guys have two things over us.... People with more money, and also MORE people... The combination of those two result in cars reaching 13s quicker... They are also more knoledgable. How many people on the lonely Bstuff even know about 60degreev6.com? Not many. If there were more people who knew what they were doing and more interested/devoted to making the cars faster then, more would be doing 13's... Prime example is how close Eric is with a 3t40 in there and only a stock 3500, its possible, just no one cares enough.

Do you have ANY idea how radical his cam is, and how much overlap he has? he's lost 2 rod bearings because of it already, AND he's hit his valves with his pistons multiple times because of his high RPM setup.

His car is FAR from something that does not need constant attention. Even mine is far from that I need to keep tabs on my timing chain and quite possibly my lower end since I'm running high RPM's AND a heavy cam/spring option.
