from skimming around it looked like you had a lot of work cut out for you. I keep seeing people replacing the 3100f for a 2.2, why?

Where are you seeing people put in 2.2's? Are you confusing the upper plenum of the 04-05 3500v6 for a 2.2L engine?

Maybe.. Not to sure, ugh so much to get used too. So I can put a newer plenum on my 3.1, or convert to a 3500

You can put big port 3100(on newer cars, other models) or 3400(which is the same size as the big port 3100). You must have the upper and lower.
There is a little more work when it comes to the 3500 upper(it can be used on big port 3100's and the 3400 lowers).
With any of those you are going to need an EGR adapter. You can get one at WOT-Tech. There is more to the intake swapping than that, it's been done many time so just look around here for more info.
The 2.2L is an inline four cylinder. It doesn't have much of a following do to head gasket problems and is a major down grade in power.

Re: 94 3100 gas problems
This is not a 2.2L engine....
And to be honest, what you can do is the limit of your imagination... My original motor was a 3400/3500 combo.. some do a 3100 with 3400 heads/lower intake and the 3500 upper... so there are many parts that can be mixed and matched... The only thing you can't do is 3500 heads and up on a 3100 motor... Combustion chamber size on the 3500 head is too large for the smaller 3.1 bore.
I'm currently running a heavily modified 3500 engine in my car.

Re: 94 3100 gas problems
Idle issue could also be related to the O2 being bad... Until you get the mixture sorted out I wouldn't go after anything else, it could just be a result of it running that way.

O2 will be changed soon. I'll update my progress as I go along. Thank you for your help!
